SAMPARC BALGRAM (CHILDREN’S VILLAGE),BHAJE :
A model home for care & protection of orphan & needy children at the footsteps of Bhaje Caves, near Lonavla. The centre has 124 children in 10 balsadans. Bhaje was the beginning of SAMPARC activities since 1990.
SAMPARC BALGRAM (CHILDREN’S VILLAGE),POYNAD
The centre is located in the heart of Bandhan village, 15 km from Alibag & 124 km from Mumbai. The centre started in 1999 is known for its good educational standard, community values and discipline among children. The centre has 53 children.
SAMPARC BALGRAM (CHILDREN ’S VILLAGE), SHEL-PIMPALGAON:
The Shel-Pimpalgaon Children’s Home was started in 2000 with an aim to provide a family environment in community setup to the orphans and disadvantaged children. The centre has 53children.
SAMPARC BAL ASHA GHAR:
Bal Asha Ghar, a project which has come under SAMPARC Management since August 2005 for running and taking care of children of sex workers from red light area. Bal Asha Ghar is situated at Nandgaon, a hilly and remote area, 16 kms from Lonavla. Presently, 57children are living in a family set-up under the guidance & care of SAMPARC. The children are from the red light area of Kamathipura, Mumbai & Budhwarpeth, Pune.
SAMPARC SHISHU KENDRA,Kolkata:
A home to take care of socially victimized children of Kolkata in West Bengal was started in 2005.The centre has 32children & the centre also supports 75 children through community outreach program at Hardevpur area and 50children in Diamond Harbor Area.
SAMPARC SCHOOL & HOSTEL, BHAMBARDE:
A school & hostel started in 1999 in the hilly western region of Pune District to provide education to the poor village children of 14 remote backward villages of Mulshi Taluka. The school, the first of its kind in this region, has 232 students & the hostel has 138 Students.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE, MALAVLI:
The main mission of SAMPARC Vocational Training Centre at Malavli is to develop and enhance the skills and encourage social entrepreneurship among youth from nearby 42 villages to fight against poverty, unemployment & social insecurity. 1840 children already trained and over 1120 employed from the centre since its establishment from 1994.
MEDICAL CENTRE, MALAVLI:
The medical center provides outpatient service, inpatient service, pathology lab for investigations, Cardiac Unit, X-Ray Unit & a Mobile Medical Van . The centre provides medical assistance to 40000-strong rural community of 40 villages in Maval taluka since 2005.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT, MALAVLI:
A massive venture by the Rural Women started since 1992 through the concept of SHG. A Regd. Co-operative Society with 202 (micro-credit groups) covering 3940 women from 42 villages. Allied programs are Women's Counseling Centre, Entrepreneurship Development, Micro-Insurance & Housing Society for Poor.
HOUSING PROJECT:
SAMPARC initiated a low cost housing project with the help of Habitat For Humanity & Jimmy Carter Work project near Malavli Railway Station for economically poor people to build their own houses. This has now been registered as a housing society governed by women. In the year 2007 Abhinav English Medium School has been started in the same premises with an aim to provide education to local village students so that they can get the benefit of studying in English Medium School. At present 74 children from Housing Project & surrounding areas attend the school. 1st std has been introduced this year.
EDUCATION SUPPORT PROGRAMS:
Education support program have started in Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal and Rajasthan for the children who were deprived of education or unable to continue their studies due to their poor economical background in spite of having parents. About 650 children are being supported through this program. |
