Journey of SAMPARC™
Brief Summary of the journey Mr.Amitkumar Banerjee, Mrs.Lata Pande, Trustee and Members of SAMPARC
1990-1991
  1. Officially on 1st January 1990 without any financial help either from Government or any other source Balsadan was started in a small rented house in village Bhaje with 7 orphan children.
  2. Started pr-primary school for 125 children between age group of 3-5 years from nearby villages of Bhaje, Lohgad, and Gherevadi. Modestly educated women from the villages were taken teachers to teach these children.
  3. They were 5 staff who worked without salary.
1991-1992
  1. Received License from State Government of Maharashtra to run Balsadan for 20 children.
  2. Tried hard for 1 year to get permission to purchase a piece of land near Bhaje caves.
  3. Started Health Education Program on topics like Women’s Health, Nutrition, Drinking Water, kitchen garden and health awareness program which was benefitted by 200 children and 100 villagers.
  4. Started Pre-primary school in 6 villages for 170 children who along with education received the benefit of free health check up and medicines.
  5. There was severe shortage of Water; a borewell was laid which benefitted not only the children in Bhaje balgram but also the villagers during summer.
  6. Under Central Government Scheme 1 year Bamboo Cane Training was taken which benefitted 25 boys and girls who were taught to make products out of Bamboo Cane.
  7. Took training of Agarbati making for 40 women from Lohagad.
  8. 1st Training camp on Youth Awareness was undertaken in Bhaje.
  9. After overcoming many obstacles received permission for construction of Kalyan Balsadan in Bhaje.
1992-1993
  1. Completed construction of Kalyan Balsadan
  2. Received permission for 22 children and the strength of children increased to 40 children .
  3. During this period SAMPARC came across 116 cowherd children who used to take animals into the forest and had no opportunity to go to school. SAMPARC carried non formal educational program & brought all these children under the level of 5th standard & subsequently provided them with Vocational Training.
  4. In the same year came into contact with IGSSS institute in Pune through which SAMPARC received FCRA registration. The institute also helped SAMPARC to conduct training for Health Community worker and Women Empowerment.
  5. Planted 35000 saplings with the help of villagers.
1993-1994
  1. With the help of IGSS increased water capacity by increasing the depth of Pond in village Bhaje.
  2. Conducted 2 Health Camps which was benefitted by 600 families. Organized cataract operation camp and post operation care.
  3. Created abundant resources for 400 women from 6 villages by establishing Mahila Mandal a platform through which various social issues, legal laws, child marriage, preventing alcohol issues were addressed along with small skill oriented training awareness was given.
  4. During the same year conducted training for farmers and they were taken to ideal village Ralegan.
  5. Conducted 6 pre-primary training, 5 Bal Bhavan training, 4 informal education training, training for staff of 4 balgrams and conducted Participatory Research Appraisal for staff of SAMPARC.
  6. Started training Centre in Patan Village.
  7. 250 children from 4 villages benefitted through Bal Bhavan Program.
  8. Expansion of 1 pre- primary school in 1 village benefitted 265 children.
  9. During this period the Ganesh Sadan was constructed which helped accommodation of 60 children.
  10. SAMPARC received permission from Income Tax Department to issue 100% tax exemption on donation under 35 AC.
1992-1993
