At present there are 39 children under the rehabilitation program, under the supervision of Mr Shashikant Chabukswar. One counselor, 4 Housemothers, 2 tutors are working day and night and visiting teachers come and teach dance, music, karate, for the children. Visiting doctors take care of all health related aspects of the children. Children are attending Municipal School and High-school. Regular medical check-up, counseling and confidence building sessions are conducted for the children. Children are guided for education, sports and cultural activities. After living in SAMPARC Balgram, the children have gained lot of confidence.
Special attention and care is constantly provided to the panic-stricken children who have lost their parents and have become homeless. An education support program has now been started to provide educational support to those children who come from poor economic background. Today there are 110 children from Nagarpalika and Navanagar slums area who are being supported under this program. There are 3 teachers who conduct regular tuition classes for these children. SAMPARC also provides educational materials such as stationery, uniforms, bags, and other items. SAMPARC plans to support about 200 such children. The project incharge along with staff regular counsel the parents and also conduct monthly meetings to create awareness and to know the progress of the program.
